Molalla Fire District would like to proudly announce a new change to the Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating in our district. We take pride in providing the best service possible to our residents. The combined efforts of our volunteers, students, improved staffing, and new equipment have helped to provide this new rating.
The tax levy and bond that passed by our residents enabled us to get the improved staffing and equipment needed to change this rating.
The improved staffing allowed the Mulino station to be re-recognized and allowed us to increase our rural water supply draft sites.
With the new ISO ratings:
- Molalla Fire District residence within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant are now designated a class 3. This is an improvement for most from what was previously a class 4 in Molalla and what was a class 10 in parts of Mulino.
- Residence within 5 miles of a recognized fire station and further than 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant are now a class 5. This is an improvement from an 8B.
- Residence that are 5 to 7 miles from a recognized station and where a rural water supply has been established are a class 10W and any residence beyond the 7 miles remain a class 10.
- This is a significant change in rating and will benefit many families within the Molalla Fire District response area.
All residents and business owners in the Molalla Fire District are encouraged to contact their insurance companies to see how the improved ISO ratings may affect their insurance premiums. The new rating will go into effect August 1, 2016.
You can pick up a copy of the ISO letter at the main station or download it from our website at www.molallafire.org.
We want to thank the voters again for passing the Bond and Levy that gave us the tools needed to improve this rating and help us help you!
