Molalla Fire District would like to proudly announce an update to the Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating in our district. We take pride in providing the best service possible to our residents. The combined efforts of our volunteers, students, improved staffing, and new equipment have helped to provide this rating which has exceeded other fire districts and state agency ratings.
The tax levy and bond that passed by our residents enabled us to get improved staffing and equipment needed to change this rating.
The improved staffing allows the Mulino station to continue to be recognized and allows us to increase our rural water supply draft sites.
With the new ISO ratings:
- Molalla Fire District residence within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant and within five miles of a fire station are designated a class 3. The class 3 rating includes both Molalla and Mulino.
- Residences that are more than 5 miles from a recognized station and where a rural water supply has been established are a class 10.
This is a significant change in rating and will benefit many families within the Molalla Fire District response area.
All residents and business owners in the Molalla Fire District are encouraged to contact their insurance companies to see how ISO ratings may affect their insurance premiums. The new rating went into effect July 1, 2023.
