Molalla Fire District # 73 has a Resident Student Program for individuals who are pursuing an education leading toward a fire service/emergency medical service career. It is a two to three year program that gives the student an opportunity to obtain the education and work experience to complete educational requirements. The District has two ambulances, three engines, two water tenders and specialty rescue equipment that will give the student unique transport experience. The student’s primary residence will be at one the Districts stations where they will be assigned to a duty shift. District # 73’s Resident Program has been very successful in placing people in career firefighter and EMS positions. The District responds to almost 3,000 emergency calls per year. The area covers approximately 105 sq. miles of fire protection and 350 sq. miles of ambulance coverage providing service to approximately 30,000 patrons in Molalla, Mulino, Colton, and unincorporated south Clackamas County. Resident Students respond out of station 81 and 82, which are two of three stations within the District.
